About Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) are trained as primary care providers to treat a wide variety of health conditions. They integrate standard medical diagnostics with a broad range of natural therapies to provide patients with evidence-based, personalized care. Naturopathic doctors attempt to treat the root cause of disease and create an environment for healing in the body to support physical and emotional wellness. Naturopathic medicine supports the body’s own healing ability with the use of clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, acupuncture/Asian medicine, physical medicine, homeopathic medicine, and lifestyle counseling.
Naturopathic medicine plays an important role in integrative health care, and treatments can be used on their own or together with conventional medicine. Dr. Noelle loves to collaborate with other health care professionals and strives to work alongside your family doctor to ensure you are receiving the best care possible.
Training & Education
Naturopathic Doctors are required to complete an undergraduate degree, including pre-requisite pre-medical courses, in order to apply to an accredited Naturopathic Medical College. Once accepted into a Naturopathic College, Naturopathic doctors then complete 4 years of intensive Naturopathic medical training and education. Dr. Noelle (ND) completed her training and education at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in North York, Ontario. CCNM is the leading naturopathic medical school in Canada and graduates complete over 3,000 hours of in-class training and 1,200 hours in clinical training at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic (RSNC).
Naturopathic Doctors are required to pass 2 sets of licensing exams as well as Ontario Clinical Boards in order to receive their Naturopathic license in Ontario. Naturopathic Medicine is regulated by the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO) who ensures that Naturopathic Doctors have the knowledge, skill and judgment to carry out their role as primary care doctors in their communities.
